Subsequently, people with loss of smell may not be able to fully taste foods and may lose interest in eating. This can lead to weight loss or malnutrition. It can also lead to depression because it may impair one’s ability to smell or taste pleasurable foods.

Causes Of Anosmia

Anosmia is frequently caused by a swelling or blockage in the nose that prevents odors from getting to the top of the nose. It is sometimes caused by a problem with the system that sends signals from the nose to the brain.

The major causes are listed below;

1. Irritation

Firstly, Irritation to the mucus membranes lining the nose can result to this complicated condition.

This can result from: sinus infections, common colds, smoking, the flu or influenza, allergies (allergic rhinitis), chronic congestion not related to allergies (no allergic rhinitis).
A cold is the most common cause of partial and temporary loss of smell. In these cases, it will go away on its own.

2. Blockage of the nasal passages

Secondly, one’s Loss of smell can occur if something is physically blocking the passage of air into the nose. This may include: tumors. nasal polyps, bone deformities inside the nose or a nasal septum

3. Brain or nerve damage

There are receptors inside the nose that send information through nerves to the brain. loss of smell can occur if any part of this pathway is damaged.

There are many conditions that can cause this damage, including: old age Alzheimer’s disease, brain tumors, Huntington’s disease.

What Are Beetles?

Firstly, let talk about what beetles are. Although the word beetle will ring a familiar bell into your ears. There is no denying the fact that these insects can be seem almost everywhere, but how easily can they be recognized amidst other little insects?

Beetles are insects that form the order Coleoptera, in the super order Endopterygota. Their front pair of wings are hardened into wing-cases, elytra, distinguishing them from most other insects.

The Coleoptera, with about 400,000 described species, is the largest of all orders, constituting almost 40% of described insects and 25% of all known animal life-forms.

Furthermore, they are found in almost if not every habitat except the sea and the polar regions. They interact with their ecosystems in several ways: beetles often feed on plants and fungi, break down animal and plant debris, and eat other invertebrates.

Similarly, some species are serious agricultural pests, such as the Colorado potato beetle. While others such as Coccinellidae (ladybirds or ladybugs) eat aphids, scale insects, thrips, and other plant-sucking insects that damage crops.

Subsequently, beetles have contributed greatly to man’s development in one way or the other of which the cure to Anosmia (loss of smell) is on of the benefit which they brought to man.

How Does Beetles Help In Curing Anosmia?

Beetles are not all generally humble or should i say gentle and calm in nature but few among theses insect family serve the means of benefiting mankind. Beetles helps in increasing the soil fertility.

Also, many beetles are beneficial and play an important role as nutrient recyclers returning organic matter through multi- tropic interactions.

This great diversity and ability to adapt, along with being a key component in the workings of the biosphere, make beetles one of the most abundant and successful of all insects.

Subsequently, beetles have strong resistance to infections, sickness or any form of contagious diseases.

Beetles urine are good ingredient in combating Anosmia when ingested, the repulsive stench and odor makes it quite impossible for the mechanism that aid the nose in performing it function to stay idle.

Therefore, it forces the sense of smell to kick back into action. This method might be a bit irritating leaving a bitter taste in it aftermath, it can also be turned to when all other method have failed.
